My work experience

I began private practice counselng in October of 1989. Before opening my practice I worked at Serve, Inc, in Fulton and Comprehensive Counseling Services in Columbia. I also previously contracted with Human Dynamics and Spring Grove Counseling in Jefferson City

Along with my counseling practice I taught college classes for thirteen years at both Lincoln University and Moberly Area Community College. Courses included Introductory Psychology, Lifespan Development, Personality Theories, and Abnormal Psychology. I retired from teaching in 2015.

In the last fifteen years I have focused my training and in office work on couples counseling.  I completed level three of the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy in May of 2019. The Gottman Method is a science- based approach to working with couples that has at it's core the Sound Relationship House Theory™.  You can read more about it at https://www.gottman.com/about/the-gottman-method/

In April of 2022 I completed the Collaborative Couples Therapy course based on Dan Wile's work and research and in February of 2025 I completed the four day Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy©  for couples.

Lastly, I specialize in reconciliation and repair regarding fracture in relationships. I value assisting people who have experienced some kind of split in a significant relationship (partners, spouses, parent/child), and who have a desire to heal the relationship. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or for consultation.

I use the pronouns he/him.
